Project H’s Design Revolution Road Show Tour

On February 1st, design nonprofit Project H Design (run by Inhabitat’s Emily Pilloton), will hit the road for a 25-school, 75-day, 6300-mile tour and exhibition showcasing design for social impact! The Design Revolution Road Show will take place in a vintage Airstream trailer that features a mobile exhibition of 40 humanitarian products and a lecture/workshop series that will visit 25 high schools and colleges around the country. The tour kicks off in San Francisco on February 1st, and you can check out the whole itinerary here.

If you live in SF and want to be the first to see the exhibition, join Project H for a VIP Sneak Preview on January 30th at Stable Cafe! They’ll be opening the Airstream exhibition doors, serving delicious food, and raffling off great design gifts!!

The 40 products featured in the Design Revolution Road Show’s exhibition have been showcased in the book Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People. Project H founder Emily Pilloton and project architect Matthew Miller will be behind the wheel for the duration of the road show, hosting lectures, workshops, and exhibition tours at every stop.

The programming will bring the evidence of and tools for design for social impact to the doorsteps of students, with the ultimate goal of enabling and empowering the next generation of creative problem-solvers to apply their skills to the world’s most pressing problems and improve life on a global scale. We will update the SoMo calendar of all tour stops in the south.

AIA Atlanta Tours Committee & USGBC partnership for Under-Construction Tours presents 1075 Peachtree Under Construction Tour January 7th, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The tour will be hosted by RJT+R & Brasfield and Gorrie and is a LEED Silver Project.

If you missed it last spring you’ll have a chance to see the beautiful home of Rob & Jacki Hale (Klotz House) again on Tuesday January 12th at 7 p.m.. This 1957 Sorensen & Fletcher built pool home sits on a spectacular triangular shaped double lot in the Rose Isle neighborhood of Orlando. Visitors first meeting is free. Membership is $60 per yr. per person or $100 per couple (Sept.-Oct.). This event has also been added to the Calendar and you can automatically add it to your Google Calendar by clicking the event.
